abstract |
A secondary battery is provided that includes a gas generating material that increases the internal pressure of a battery case under predetermined conditions, and that suppresses the influence of the gas generating material on battery performance. A secondary battery according to the present invention includes an electrode body 80 including a positive electrode and a negative electrode, a battery case that houses the electrode body 80, a gas that is disposed inside the battery case and generates a gas as the temperature rises. A generator 60 and a current interrupt mechanism that operates when the internal pressure of the battery case rises due to gas generation from the gas generator 60 are provided. The gas generating material 60 is disposed so as to avoid a site involved in the battery reaction. [Selection] Figure 4 |
