abstract Quantitative analysis of the effects of BSEP on the bile acid transport function and the degree of liver damage caused by this, including the effects of metabolites of the test compound in the presence of bile acids on the test compound in vivo Provides a means by which predictions can be made. According to some aspects of the present invention, the following is provided: A method for evaluating the hepatotoxicity of a test compound comprising the following steps (a) and (b): (a) bile acid A step of bringing a test compound into contact with cultured hepatocytes in the presence of (b) a step of measuring the degree of injury of the cultured hepatocytes contacted with the test compound. A screening method for compounds having hepatotoxicity, including the following steps (c) and (d): (c) a step of evaluating hepatotoxicity of a test compound using the above method; (d) obtained evaluation results The step of determining that the test compound is a compound having hepatotoxicity when hepatotoxicity in the presence of bile acid is significantly increased in comparison with the evaluation result in the absence of bile acid.
