abstract | [PROBLEMS] To provide a rubber composition that can improve fuel economy, wet grip performance, wear resistance and kneadability in a well-balanced manner, and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition. A rubber component and silica are contained, and in 100% by mass of the rubber component, a content of a modified styrene butadiene rubber using a specific nitrogen-containing compound as a monomer is 5% by mass or more, and a specific high-cis polybutadiene is contained. The amount is 10 to 70% by mass, and the present invention relates to a tire rubber composition in which the silica content is 10 to 150 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component.
