Biomass feedstock (eg, plant biomass, animal biomass and municipal waste biomass) is processed to produce useful products such as fuel. For example, a system is described that can convert a raw material into a sugar solution, which can then be fermented to produce ethanol. The biomass feedstock is saccharified in a container by operation of a jet mixer, which also contains a liquid medium and a saccharifying agent. |
