abstract |
The present invention includes an active substance having a functional group capable of covalently bonding to a substrate in the presence of an acid or a base, a photocatalyst capable of generating an acid or a base upon exposure to light, and an excipient. Including a composition. Also included herein are methods for treating substrates with these compositions. The method includes applying at least one active substance having a functional group to a substrate, applying a photocatalyst to the substrate, and exposing the photocatalyst and the at least one active substance to light to provide a functional group on the substrate. Forming a covalent bond between the group and the component group. The compositions and methods described herein are useful for consumer care and personal care product applications. |
