The present invention generally relates to the field of fluorescent dies as a useful system for surgical imaging. More particularly, the present invention excites fluorescent, phosphorescent or luminescent molecules with light from a light source, and the relative fluorescence, phosphorescence or luminescence emitted from the fluorescent, phosphorescent or luminescent molecules. The present invention relates to a system, method and kit for detecting intensity. Such a system can be applied as a mapping agent for various surgical techniques such as cancer surgery and biopsy.
