abstract |
The present invention provides HP1α, a prognostic marker in human cancer, whose high overexpression is associated with poor prognosis. The present invention further provides a method for diagnosing cancer in a subject, wherein HP1α is specifically overexpressed in tumor cells. The invention also provides a method of selecting a subject afflicted with cancer for adjuvant therapy and a method of monitoring the response of a subject afflicted with cancer to treatment. |
