An expandable helical stent is provided, which can be formed of a main stent component and a fixation portion. The main stent component can be connected to form a geometrically shaped cell (430), one or more corrugated sidebands (401, 402) that are spirally wound to form a stent. ). The helical coils of the main stent component may be spatially separated or close together. The proximity of adjacent spiral wound corrugations contributes to maintaining the tube shape and uniformity of the spirally wound stent. Alternatively, the flat strip may include a single corrugated pattern. At each end of the main stent component is an end band (407) that, when rolled, forms a cylindrical annulus. In one embodiment, one or more struts of the main stent component may have a width sufficient to embed one or more fenestrations. The windowed struts can be connected by loops or turns, where the material is narrower than that of the windowed struts to increase flexibility. The helical tube is maintained at the fixed part. |
