abstract The present invention provides a novel preparation of hyaluronic acid derivatives by reaction of hyaluronic acid with complexes of the general formulas R—CO—O—CO—O—R1 and R25C5N (O-acyl-O′-alkyl carbonate-substituted pyridines) Regarding the method. The reaction takes place in DMSO in the presence of an external base and an O-acylated product is formed.
