abstract |
Alumina and aluminate phosphors for preparing fluorescent paints with excellent light-emitting properties and methods for producing the same are provided. Α-alumina composed of spherical particles having a volume median diameter d 50 of 0.3 μm to 2 μm has excellent reflection characteristics, and an average particle of about 10 μm composed of particles having an average particle size of 0.25 μm to 1.5 μm. An aluminate luminescent material comprising an aggregate having a diameter has an excellent light-emitting property. Particulate α-alumina can be produced at low cost from γ-alumina and α-alumina seeds by performing a process combining firing, pulverization and sieving. The aluminate phosphor is denitrated after (1) performing a combined process of calcination, grinding and sieving from ammonium alum and rare earth metal, or (2) impregnating γ-alumina or alumina spinel with rare earth metal. It can be manufactured at a low cost by performing a process combining baking, pulverization and sieving. [Selection] Figure 1 |
