titleOfInvention | Thermally transferable materials for improved image stability |
abstract | A heat-transferable polymer binder and a light stabilizer, the light stabilizer being an N-oxyl radical derived from a hindered amine, wherein the N-oxyl radical is represented by the following formula (I): Wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 5 and R 6 are each independently selected from linear or branched C 1 -C 6 alkyl, and R 3 and R 4 are H, OH, OR, COOH or COOR (Wherein R is independently selected from linear or branched C 1 -C 6 alkyl or alkene), and describes a thermally transferable donor element having a molecular weight of 600 or less. The thermally transferable material can be present in one or more sections or patches on the thermal donor element to provide a protective overcoat material. Optionally, the patch in the donor element may include a dye. Thermally transferable materials provide good image stability and improved iridescence when applied to thermal, ink jet, electrophotographic or silver halide receivers. |
