abstract |
A method for preventing or suppressing the backward movement of an exhaust valve seat in a natural gas fuel engine is provided. A natural gas fueled engine is operated under lubrication with a lubricating oil composition for a natural gas engine comprising (a) a major amount of oil of lubricating viscosity and (b) an alkali metal-containing detergent. However, the lubricating oil composition for a natural gas engine substantially contains neither an alkaline earth metal-containing detergent nor a lithium-containing detergent.
