(A) a gene encoding (i) a CDK4 / CDK6 inhibitor, preferably p16 INK4a , or (ii) an RNA that interferes with CDK4 and / or CDK6 expression and / or activity under the control of an inducible promoter; A vector containing a gene encoding a transactivator protein of said promoter useful for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. This vector can be introduced into a cell and exert a protective function in the cell to (i) prevent cell death or (ii) delay the progression of cell death. These vectors with therapeutic efficacy can be used in therapeutic applications to prevent or slow the progression of neurodegenerative diseases. |
