abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for isolating a biomolecule. More particularly, the present invention is a method for isolating related proteins, including antibodies (mAbs) and antibody fragments (Fabs), which are positive and relatively hydrophobic and react with negatively charged polymers -Relates to a process carried out under conditions which form a precipitate of protein complexes. Isolation can be achieved using inexpensive, biocompatible negatively charged polymers such as polyacrylic acid or carboxymethyl dextran polymers of various molecular weights as precipitants. It is performed at a relatively high polymer concentration (eg 10%) and high salt concentration (> 50 mM) and conductivity (eg> 10 mS / cm) over a wide pH range. [Selection figure] None |
