Disclosed are a composition and a method for treating a disease associated with the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). Compositions useful for treating diseases associated with the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system are provided. The composition contains a renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitor and a lipoic acid compound, as well as other therapeutic agents, and can be used in patients with hypertension, stroke, metabolic syndrome, or other renin-angiotensin-aldosterone systems. Useful for treating related diseases. The composition is also beneficial for improving patient vasodilation, reducing proteinuria, and reducing insulin resistance.
