abstract The present disclosure provides an injectable, synthetic biodegradable polymeric biocompatible material that efficiently prevents seroma, a common post-operative complication after resection and reconstruction surgery. The provided biocompatible material contains a physically cross-linked hydrogel, which is thixotropic, exhibits rapid chain relaxation, can be easily extruded from a narrow gauge needle, and does not degrade and degrade. Becomes an active product, well tolerated by parenchyma, and effectively prevents seroma in an animal model of routine mastectomy.
