abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a printing paper having high opacity and whiteness by using regenerated particles and titanium dioxide particles as a raw material for the internally added filler. The present invention relates to a printing paper in which a filler is internally added, and as the filler, recycled particles obtained from papermaking sludge as a main raw material and subjected to dehydration, heat treatment and pulverization steps and titanium dioxide particles are provided. It includes composite particles aggregated with a coagulant and has a printing opacity of 90% to 96%. It is preferable that at least a part of the surface of the composite particle is coated with silica. Moreover, it is good in the content rate of the silica in the said composite particle being 5 to 30 mass%. The regenerated particles may have an average particle size (primary particle size) of 1 μm or more and 10 μm or less, and the titanium dioxide particles may have an average particle size (primary particle size) of 0.2 μm or more and 1 μm or less.
