abstract | A method for effectively stopping the expansion of the distribution of Argentine ants over a long period of time is provided. The method for controlling Argentine ants according to the present invention applies a sufficient amount of nest companion pheromone to the floor or the ground so that Argentine ants can perform repellent behavior. In the control method of the present invention, the nest companion pheromone is preferably supported on a carrier, and the amount of the nest companion recognition pheromone supported is 5.8 μg or more per 1 cm 2 of the carrier surface.
