A method for efficiently removing and adsorbing iodate ions in a solution is provided. An adsorbent which is a chelating ion-exchange fiber body comprising a polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer composition containing acrylonitrile as a base polymer and a blend polymer having a chelating substituent derived from a polyamine compound. 1) including a step of allowing a reducing agent to act on iodate ions in a solution, and a step of causing an oxidizing agent to act on the generated iodide ions as necessary. 2) Iodine molecules and / or polyiodine A step of removing and adsorbing ions.
