abstract |
A method for directly quantifying the percentage of total glycated hemoglobin or the percentage of glycated hemoglobin A1c in a blood sample without measuring the total hemoglobin in the blood sample in a separate process. The method includes the steps of: a) contacting a protein fragment containing a glycated peptide or glycated amino acid with fructosyl amino acid oxidase to produce hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), wherein the protein fragment is 1) a lysis buffer that releases hemoglobin from red blood cells in the blood sample, 2) a first oxidizing agent that selectively oxidizes low molecular weight reducing substances, and 3) selective high molecular weight reducing substances. And the like, and 4) a process produced by contacting glycated hemoglobin with a protease that digests glycated hemoglobin into a glycated peptide or a glycated amino acid. [Selection figure] None |
