abstract | 【Task】 Providing a simple method for recovering highly pure cyclic polyarylene sulfide in a short time from a reaction mixture obtained by reacting a reaction composition comprising at least a sulfidizing agent, a dihalogenated aromatic compound and an organic polar solvent . [Solution] A cyclic polyarylene from a reaction mixture containing at least a linear polyarylene sulfide, a cyclic polyarylene sulfide and an organic polar solvent obtained by reacting at least a sulfidizing agent, a dihalogenated aromatic compound and an organic polar solvent. A method for recovering sulfide, wherein (a) water is added so that the water content is 5 to 15% by weight based on the total amount of organic polar solvent and water in the reaction mixture, and subjected to solid-liquid separation. Provided is a method for recovering cyclic polyarylene sulfide, which comprises obtaining a filtrate component and then separating (b) cyclic polyarylene sulfide from the obtained filtrate component.
