abstract | An inkjet recording apparatus and an inkjet recording method capable of recording a high-quality image at high speed. An ink jet recording apparatus (1) is an apparatus for recording an image by ejecting pigment ink from an ink jet head (2) onto a recording surface of a recording medium (P), and transporting the recording medium (P) to the ink jet head (2). Means 4 and a recording medium discharging means 5 for discharging the recording medium P on which an image is recorded by the inkjet head 2, and the recording medium discharging means 5 is a discharge disposed on the side opposite to the recording surface of the recording medium P. A roller 51 and a cylindrical follower roller 52 disposed on the recording surface side of the recording medium so as to face the discharge roller.
