abstract A premixed two-stroke engine capable of improving the responsiveness of the entire system and enabling stable operation. A shielding cylinder 52 having an opening 51 is fitted to the outside of a scavenging port 1 of a cylinder liner 3 so as to be movable in the vertical direction. The shielding cylinder 52 is driven up and down by a hydraulic cylinder 53, and the hydraulic cylinder 53 is attached to the cylinder liner 3 by a cage 54. When the shielding cylinder 52 is at the lower end position, the scavenging port 1 of the cylinder liner 3 and the opening 51 of the shielding cylinder 52 entirely overlap. When the shielding cylinder 52 moves upward, the scavenging port 1 and the opening 51 partially overlap, and the lower part of the scavenging port 1 is shielded by the shielding cylinder 52.
