The present invention provides a method for producing a modified conjugated diene polymer suitable for preparation of a polymer composition excellent in fuel economy. A conjugated diene polymer having a monomer unit based on a conjugated diene compound and a monomer unit based on a compound represented by the following formula (1) is reacted with an organometallic compound. The present invention relates to a method for producing a modified conjugated diene polymer in which a reaction product is reacted with a hydrocarbyloxysilane compound.
