abstract |
A method for producing a high molecular weight polyhydrosilane by polymerizing SiH 4 with high activity and high efficiency is provided. The method comprises polymerizing SiH 4 with a catalyst obtained by contacting a group 4 metallocene with an alkylating agent selected from alkyllithium, alkylaluminum, alkylmagnesium and alkylmagnesium halides. In the production method, the contact between the group 4 metallocene and the alkylating agent is performed under conditions where SiH 4 is present. The polyhydrosilane produced by the above method can be suitably used as a silicon precursor. [Selection figure] None |
