abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink set for ink-jet recording in which curling of recorded matter is suppressed and water-based ink and processing liquid are excellent in redispersibility and fluidity after evaporation. An aqueous ink set for ink jet recording comprising an aqueous ink for ink jet recording and a treatment liquid, wherein the aqueous ink contains a colorant, water and a wetting agent, and the treatment liquid comprises an aggregating agent, water and a wetting agent. In the water-based ink and the treatment liquid, the penetrant includes glycerin and polyethylene glycol (PEG) having a weight average molecular weight of 400 to 600, and the PEG includes the following (A), (B1) and ( The water-based ink and the treatment liquid are blended so as to satisfy the condition C).
