abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a honeycomb filter capable of suppressing an increase in initial pressure loss and having a high initial collection efficiency of particulate matter. A honeycomb substrate having a porous partition wall base material for defining a plurality of cells extending from one end face to the other end face as a fluid flow path, and a fluid inflow side as the one end face. A plugging portion disposed in an opening of a predetermined cell on the end face and an opening of the remaining cell on the end face on the fluid outflow side which is the other end face; and a surface of a partition wall base material in the remaining cell. A cross-section perpendicular to the cell extending direction, the cell shape is rectangular, and the thickness of the portion of the collection layer located at the corner of the cell is A honeycomb filter having a thickness of 1 to 3 times the thickness of a portion of the collection layer located at the center of the side of the cell.
