titleOfInvention Barbed construct for barbed suture
abstract A barbed suture capable of maintaining knot tensile strength and minimizing gap formation along the wound edge. A barbed suture for connecting tissue, and a combination of a surgical needle and barbed suture. The suture includes an elongated body 12 and a plurality of barbs 17 and 19 protruding from the body. With each barb, the suture resists movement in the opposite direction as the barb is facing. The arrangement of barbs on the main body may be a staggered arrangement, a twist cutting multiple spiral arrangement, an overlapping arrangement, or a random arrangement. In addition, the configuration of barbed barbs is a spiral angle, barbed cutting angle, barbed cutting depth, barbed cutting length, barbed cutting distance, corrugated barbed bottom surface, arcuate barbed base, or variable barbed base. May be size. [Selection] Figure 2A
