abstract |
A wet-type image forming apparatus capable of achieving both offset and fixability by adjusting the amount of carrier liquid in a toner layer to an appropriate range. A penetrating amount measuring unit for measuring a penetrating amount of a carrier liquid into a recording paper is provided. The output signal of the permeation amount measuring unit 1 is taken into the control device 8 and used to calculate the voltage supplied to the heat source (heater) of the assumed wearing part 4. The signal from the paper temperature measuring unit 2 is taken into the control device 8 to determine whether or not the target temperature has been reached. The control device 8 estimates the amount of carrier liquid in the toner layer based on information from the penetration amount measuring unit 1. Then, based on the estimation result of the carrier liquid amount, the assumed attachment portion 4 is controlled so that the carrier liquid amount in the toner layer falls within an appropriate range.
