abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device capable of suppressing a semiconductor light emitting device from being electrically short-circuited and not emitting light and capable of emitting light over a long period of time. A lighting device 1 includes a housing 2 having a pair of support portions 2a, a semiconductor light emitting device 3 provided in the housing 2, and a semiconductor light emitting device supported by the pair of support portions 2a. A translucent substrate 4 that covers the semiconductor light emitting device 3 with a gap between the device 3 and a recess in the housing 2 at each of the lower portions of the pair of support portions 2a. C is provided. It is possible to suppress the semiconductor light emitting device 3 from being electrically short-circuited and not emitting light, and to emit light over a long period of time.
