abstract | [PROBLEMS] To provide excellent dispersibility and storage stability in an aqueous medium, as well as excellent ejection properties, image density, quick drying, water resistance, and scratch resistance when used in aqueous inks such as inkjet inks. The present invention provides a method for easily producing an aqueous sulfonated carbon black dispersion exhibiting marker resistance. SOLUTION: Carbon black is mixed with sulfite or bisulfite in the presence of an aqueous medium, subjected to dispersion treatment, sulfonated, and then subjected to purification treatment, neutralization treatment, and desalting purification treatment sequentially.
