abstract | [PROBLEMS] To evaporate alkyl tertiary alkyl ether and suppress the generation of tar-like substances generated before decomposition, thereby eliminating the problem of blockage of equipment and piping, and stabilizing the plant for long-term continuous operation. The present invention provides a method for producing a tertiary olefin and an aliphatic alcohol that can be operated in a simple manner. A method for producing a tertiary olefin and an aliphatic alcohol by vapor phase decomposition of an alkyl tertiary alkyl ether to separate and recover a tertiary olefin and an aliphatic alcohol, respectively.
