abstract | An ultrasonic probe capable of both generating a B-mode image and measuring sound speed with high accuracy is provided. SOLUTION: A plurality of transducers arranged in the azimuth direction has a first ultrasonic transducer 4 located at the center of the elevation direction and second ultrasonic transducers 5 located on both sides, respectively. A B-mode image ultrasonic beam is transmitted and received using the B-mode image simultaneous aperture C1 formed by the first ultrasonic transducer 4 over a predetermined N1 channel, and is longer in the azimuth direction than the B-mode image simultaneous aperture C1. The ultrasonic wave for sound velocity measurement using the formed simultaneous opening C2 for sound velocity measurement and the second simultaneous opening for sound velocity measurement C3 formed wider in the elevation direction than the first sound velocity measuring simultaneous opening C2.
