abstract [Problem] To provide a pet food which is highly digestible and rich in well-balanced nutritional components and vitamins, has improved palatability, and has a favorable texture and appearance. SOLUTION: Roasted brown rice is used as a central core, and sugar water is used as a binder, and the periphery of the central core is coated with an outer shell composed mainly of animal protein and flour. The coating treatment using this binder is repeated 3 to 5 times to produce a pet food for dogs, cats and the like having a multilayer structure in which an outer shell mainly composed of animal protein and flour is coated in multiple layers.
