abstract The present invention provides a fluorescent polymer and a coating agent capable of forming a film excellent in both solvent resistance and heat resistance. The fluorescent compound of the present invention is a fluorescent compound having a predetermined structure. The fluorescent polymer of the present invention is obtained by polymerizing the above fluorescent compound, and contains the fluorescent compound as a constituent unit in a proportion of 0.1% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less.
