abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using an electrophotographic system capable of maintaining print image quality and reducing fixing of a developing sleeve due to friction between a developer and a developing sleeve. The proportion of particles having an equivalent circle diameter of 0.6 to 1.0 μm measured by a flow particle image analyzer (FPIA) is 4 to 7% by number, and the equivalent circle diameter of 0.6 to 2.0 μm. A toner having a particle ratio of 8 to 12% by number and a particle ratio of particles having an equivalent circle diameter of 0.6 to 3.0 μm is 18 to 22% by number, and the charging ability of the magnetic particles is 40 to 60 [ μC / g], and a value obtained by dividing the developer carrying amount ρ [mg / (cm 2 · mm)] per unit area on the developing sleeve 31 by the developing gap PG between the photosensitive member 11 and the developing sleeve 31 ( (ρ / PG) is 130 to 260 [mg / (cm 2 · mm)] or less, which is also an image forming apparatus.
