abstract | The present invention provides a novel compound having an activity-enhancing action of antifungal agents such as polyene macrolides and azoles and a method for producing the same. A polyene macrolide drug and an azole drug are produced by culturing Simplicilium sp. FKI-4981, which is a microorganism having the ability to produce FKI-4981B substance represented by the following formula [I]. Because it has an activity enhancing action of antifungal agents such as, it is effective at low concentrations and in a short period of time for many fungal infections including deep mycosis, and is useful for reducing the frequency of appearance of resistant bacteria.
