abstract |
The present invention provides a water treatment flocculant excellent in aggregating and insolubilizing performance of pollutants and a water treatment method using the water treatment flocculant. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A resol-type secondary reaction is performed by adding an aldehyde to an alkali solution of a novolac-type phenol resin obtained by reacting a phenol with an aldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst. A water treatment flocculant comprising an alkaline solution of a phenolic resin, wherein the phenols contain methylphenols such as cresol. A water treatment method comprising: a coagulation treatment step of adding an inorganic coagulant after adding the water treatment coagulant to the water to be treated; and a membrane separation treatment step of membrane separation treatment of the coagulation treatment water of the coagulation treatment step.
