The present invention provides a specimen preparation device capable of reducing labor required for cleaning a specimen cassette. When the start of specimen preparation is instructed, a slide glass on which a blood sample is smeared is stored in the cassette, and then a staining solution is supplied to the cassette in a staining section. Thereby, the specimen is stained. On the other hand, when the start of cleaning of the cassette 20 is instructed, methanol is supplied to the empty cassette 20 set in the cassette housing portion 47 at the position Mp. Thereafter, the methanol stored in the cassette 20 is recovered at the position D1p. As a result, the cassette 20 can be automatically cleaned even if the staining liquid adheres to the cassette 20. Therefore, it is not necessary to manually clean the cassette 20, and the labor required for cleaning the cassette 20 can be reduced. [Selection] Figure 2 |
