abstract In a magnetic field measurement apparatus that measures a magnetic field by arranging a plurality of cells, a technique for improving the measurement accuracy of the magnetic field by controlling the atomic density in the cell is provided. A magnetic field measurement apparatus has a film formed on an inner wall containing atoms excited by circularly polarized light, and has a constant arrangement with respect to a sensor array in which a plurality of cells each containing an atomic group consisting of the atoms are arranged. A magnetic field is applied to detect the magnetic field in each cell by the magnetic field detection unit, and the detection result of the magnetic field in each cell becomes the target value by changing the amount of induced light that photoinducedly desorbs the atoms from the film in each cell. In this way, the first process of irradiating the induced light from the induced light irradiation unit is performed. Further, the magnetic field measurement apparatus irradiates each cell with the induced light from the induced light irradiation unit with an amount of light in which the detection result of the magnetic field of each cell becomes a target value, and detects the magnetic field emitted from the specimen by the magnetic field detection unit.
