abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide an inorganic-coated synthetic resin foam in which an inorganic layer containing a silica-based inorganic material is laminated on at least a part of the surface of the synthetic resin foam, and a method for producing the same. An inorganic resin-coated synthetic resin foam in which an inorganic layer containing a silica-based inorganic material is laminated on at least a part of the surface of a synthetic resin foam. A step (A) of attaching a water-soluble silicate solution to the surface of the synthetic resin foam; and a coagulant that reacts with the water-soluble silicate on the surface of the synthetic resin foam to produce a silica-based inorganic substance. A surface of the synthetic resin foam, wherein either one of the step (A) and the step (B) is performed first, the other is performed later, or both are performed simultaneously. A method for producing an inorganic-coated synthetic resin foam, comprising: laminating an inorganic layer containing a silica-based inorganic material to obtain an inorganic-coated synthetic resin foam.
