abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide an instrument capable of safely cryopreserving an egg, embryo or the like and improving operability during cryopreservation. A columnar main body portion 2 having a base end and a distal end in an axial direction, a holding portion 3 provided at a front end of the main body portion, and a cylindrical member 4 capable of encapsulating the holding portion are provided. The holding part holds at least one selected from the group consisting of an ovum cell, an ovum, an egg and an embryo, and the main body part, the holding part and the tubular member are a cryopreservation instrument 1 made of a liquid nitrogen resistant material. The cylindrical member is externally fitted to the main body portion, and slides in the axial direction of the main body portion from a first position where the holding portion is exposed to a second position where the holding portion is encapsulated.
