A method for detecting and diagnosing bladder cancer (BLC) is provided. The method includes the step of determining the expression level of a BLC-related gene that distinguishes BLC cells from normal cells. Further, a method for screening a therapeutic agent useful in the treatment of bladder cancer using a BLC-related gene having a unique expression pattern change in a bladder cancer cell having lymph node metastasis, a method for treating bladder cancer, and a bladder in a subject A method of vaccinating cancer is provided. In particular, novel human genes C2093, B5860N, and C6055 that are significantly upregulated in bladder cancer are provided. These genes and polypeptides encoded by these genes can be used, for example, in the diagnosis of bladder cancer, as target molecules for developing drugs against the disease, and to reduce bladder cancer cell growth .
