titleOfInvention | Image forming apparatus |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus capable of suitably cleaning a liquid developer remaining on an intermediate transfer member after secondary transfer and capable of forming a high-quality image. In a wet image forming apparatus using a liquid developer, an image forming apparatus employing a tandem method in which a primary transfer is temporarily performed on an intermediate transfer member 21 and then secondarily transferred to a recording medium. After the next transfer, a cleaning unit that collects the liquid developer remaining on the intermediate transfer member 21 and a downstream side in the rotation direction of the intermediate transfer member 21 from the secondary transfer position and upstream of the cleaning unit in the rotation direction of the intermediate transfer member 21 An image forming apparatus including an aggregation accelerator addition unit 101 that is disposed on the side and adds an aggregation accelerator that promotes aggregation of the resin contained in the liquid developer onto the surface of the intermediate transfer member 21 is used.
