titleOfInvention Biodegradable intraocular implant containing prostamide
abstract An intraocular implantable drug delivery system capable of releasing a therapeutic agent such as an intraocular pressure-lowering agent at a sustained or controlled rate over a long period of time and with little or no negative side effects. For example, an intraocular implant is provided. The biodegradable intraocular implant includes a prostamide component and a biodegradable polymer matrix that is effective to promote long-term release of the prostamide component into the eye. The prostamide component can be associated with a biodegradable polymer matrix such as two biodegradable polymers. The implant can be placed in the eye to treat or alleviate at least one of the ocular conditions such as glaucoma. [Selection figure] None
