abstract | There is a need for a method for improving the viscoelastic properties of vulcanized rubber used in tire manufacture. Use of a thiosulfuric acid compound represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof for improving viscoelastic properties of a vulcanized rubber, and kneading the compound or a salt thereof, a rubber component and a filler. A rubber composition obtained. [In formula (I), R represents an alkanediyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and n represents an integer of 1 to 2. ] When used for improving the viscoelastic properties of the vulcanized rubber, the thiosulfuric acid compound represented by the formula (I) is preferably an alkali metal salt, more preferably a sodium salt.
