titleOfInvention Process for producing 5-undecenoic acid
abstract [PROBLEMS] To produce practical (Z) -5-undecenoic acid and (E) -5-undecenoic acid in a high yield without using toxic substances such as hexavalent chromium compounds in a shorter process than before. Provide a way to do it. (Z) -5-undecenoic acid and (E) -5-undecene are prepared by adding a base to a suspension solution of (4-carboxybutyl) triphenylphosphonium bromide and reacting, followed by addition of hexanal. An acid is produced. If necessary, the purity can be increased by purification by column chromatography or the like. [Selection figure] None
