titleOfInvention | Computer system for selecting an intraocular lens |
abstract | A computer system for selecting one IOL from among a plurality of IOLs implanted in a subject's eyeball is provided. A computer system includes a processor and a computer-readable memory connected to the processor for storing a sequence of ordered values and a sequence of instructions executed by the processor. The series of commands calculate the refractive power estimated based on the eyeball model and the ray tracing algorithm, and calculate the longitudinal spherical aberration (LSA) as the distance between the focal point of the peripheral ray and the focal point of the paraxial ray. Determining whether the LSA is sufficiently small and, if not small, selecting another lens having a different power, aspheric constant, and / or a different lens plane. [Selection] Figure 3 |
