titleOfInvention | Prophylactic / therapeutic agent for diseases containing an inhibitor of protein lysine methylase Set7 / 9 |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a histone methyltransferase Set7 / 9 inhibitor, a cancer cell growth inhibitor, and a prophylactic / therapeutic agent for diseases caused by excessive estrogen receptor. In order to solve the above problems, the present inventors performed screening by applying a high-throughput HMT activity measurement method originally developed by the inventors, and used cyproheptadine as an inhibitor of Set7 / 9. Identified. Furthermore, cyproheptadine selectively inhibited Set7 / 9 in vitro, reduced the expression level of ERĪ± in breast cancer cells, and suppressed estrogen-dependent growth of breast cancer cells. From this, it was found that a Set7 / 9 inhibitor can be a prophylactic / therapeutic agent for diseases caused by excessive estrogen receptor, and the present invention has been completed.
