abstract A liquid quality inspection instrument capable of easily and appropriately inspecting whether or not an inspection target liquid is a liquid suitable for supply to a supply target device (for example, a water heater). A liquid quality inspection instrument (30) comprising a color indicator container (32) containing a color indicator and an alkaline solution container (33) containing an alkaline solution as a portable kit, wherein a predetermined amount of inspection is performed. The target liquid, the color indicator, and a predetermined amount of the alkaline solution according to a predetermined allowable free carbonic acid concentration allowed for the supply target device of the inspection target liquid are mixed and mixed. A change in the color of the liquid indicates whether the free carbonic acid concentration of the liquid to be inspected is within the range of the allowable free carbonic acid concentration.
